AC Milan are considering a summer move for Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus, according to Italian reports. The 29-year-old Brazilian has re-emerged as a target for the Serie A club, with manager Massimiliano Allegri and sporting director Igli Tare reportedly keen to add experienced firepower to their attack. Jesus, whose contract at the Emirates Stadium runs until 2027, could be available as Arsenal now feature Viktor Gyökeres as their primary centre-forward.
Allegri has been clear in his desire for proven reinforcements, stating that while young talent is present, experienced players are needed across all departments, particularly in attack, for Milan to close the gap to rivals Inter. The club's current forward line, featuring Rafael Leao, Christian Pulisic, Santiago Gimenez, Christopher Nkunku, and Niclas Fullkrug, has struggled for consistent output this season. In an interview with DAZN, Tare acknowledged the difficulties, quoting Luka Modric's assessment of Leao by saying, "not even Rafa knows how strong he is," while noting the group's collective physical struggles.
The list of strikers under consideration at Milan is lengthy, with final approval required from CEO Giorgio Furlani and the ownership. Some profiles, such as the aging Robert Lewandowski or high-cost options like Dusan Vlahovic, should he not renew with Juventus, may be ruled out. Jesus represents a more financially viable target, having returned to full fitness in the second half of this season after missing most of 2025 with a knee injury. His long-standing links to Italian football, including past interest from Inter and Juventus a decade ago, and his recent signing with agent Giovanni Branchini, who also represents Allegri, are seen as facilitating factors.
Gabriel Jesus faces strong competition for the role at Milan, with other forwards like Alexander Sorloth of Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain's Goncalo Ramos, Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson, currently on loan at Bayern Munich, the outgoing Romelu Lukaku from Napoli, Genoa's Mateo Retegui, and Moise Kean of Fiorentina also on the club's radar. The pursuit underscores Milan's urgent need to revitalise an attack that has failed to deliver the goals required to challenge for the Serie A title. Securing a reliable, experienced centre-forward is viewed as the final piece in Allegri's project to build a squad capable of returning to the summit of Italian football.
