Milan have signed Portugal international Gonçalo Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain in a club-record deal, the club confirmed on Tuesday. The transfer fee is reported to be over €70 million, including add-ons, making it the most expensive signing in Milan’s 126-year history. Ramos has signed a contract with the Rossoneri, though the length of the deal was not disclosed.
The move sees Ramos reunite with new Milan manager Ruben Amorim, his fellow countryman, who is expected to build his attack around the 22-year-old forward. Last season with PSG, Ramos made 30 appearances in Ligue 1, scoring 6 goals and providing 1 assist. Despite a relatively modest return in his single season in Paris, Milan are clearly banking on Ramos to provide a significant attacking threat. The club will hope he can recapture the form he displayed at Benfica and become a consistent goalscorer in Serie A.
