AC Milan are in advanced talks to sign Portugal forward Gonçalo Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports in Italy. The Rossoneri have submitted an initial offer, believed to be close to €45 million including bonuses, for the 25-year-old striker.
Negotiations are reportedly in a decisive phase, with Milan eager to fill a crucial attacking void following a season where they missed out on Champions League qualification. Ramos, who has not established himself as a regular starter at PSG, could be offered a long-term contract worth over €4 million per year. The club confirmed initial contact has been made with the player's agent, Jorge Mendes.
Ramos joined PSG from Benfica in 2023 for a reported €65 million plus €15 million in add-ons, but has largely played a supporting role. He managed 11 goals in 29 Ligue 1 appearances in his debut season with the French champions, alongside teammates Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembélé. Despite a slight dip in league goals since, Ramos has a total of 45 goals in 111 games for PSG, contributing to their domestic dominance and reaching the Champions League semi-finals.
Milan’s pursuit of Ramos is driven by a need for a consistent goalscorer, a role last reliably filled by Olivier Giroud, who departed after helping the club win the Serie A title in 2022. New manager Paulo Amorim has identified a prolific striker as a priority signing, even before fully assessing the existing squad. Ramos fits the profile of a young, dynamic forward capable of leading the line and making a significant impact in Serie A. Prior to his move to Paris, Ramos excelled at Benfica, becoming their youngest player to reach 25 goals, surpassing a record previously held by Eusebio. He scored 41 goals in 106 appearances for the Portuguese club, winning the league title in the process. He also has 10 goals in 26 appearances for the Portuguese national team.
The potential arrival of Ramos would bolster Milan’s attacking options and provide a focal point for their attack as they aim to return to the top of Italian football.
