AS Monaco are in advanced discussions with Mamadou Coulibaly regarding a contract extension, according to reports from L’Équipe and Nice-Matin. The 22-year-old midfielder is set to be offered new terms following a breakthrough season with the Ligue 1 club. Coulibaly’s current deal is set to expire in June 2028, but Monaco are keen to reward his progress and secure his long-term future at the Stade Louis II.
Coulibaly recently completed his first full season as a professional, making 36 appearances across all competitions. His development was previously hampered by a significant knee injury, suffering a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in May 2024 which sidelined him for an extended period. Despite the setback, he has successfully reintegrated into the team and established himself in the first-team squad.
The midfielder’s performances have also earned him recognition at international level, earning his first caps for the France Under-21 team. He also featured in Monaco’s Champions League campaign this season, gaining valuable experience in Europe’s premier club competition. Coulibaly has become an increasingly important figure in the Monaco midfield, demonstrating his versatility and tactical awareness.
Monaco are currently undergoing a significant overhaul of their squad, with numerous departures and arrivals anticipated during the transfer window.
