Monza have announced that Ivan Juric will become their new head coach starting July 1, 2026, the club confirmed in an official statement. The appointment sees Juric return to Serie A after a recent spell in the Champions League with Atalanta.
Juric’s managerial career began in Italy, initially as an assistant with Inter and Palermo before taking charge of Genoa’s Primavera side. He achieved promotion to Serie A with Crotone in the 2015-16 season, marking his first significant breakthrough as a head coach. He then secured Serie A safety with Genoa during the 2016-17 campaign, building a reputation for pragmatic and effective management.
His time with Hellas Verona saw him establish himself as one of Italy’s rising managerial talents, guiding the club to successive ninth and tenth-place finishes with an attractive style of play. Juric subsequently moved to Torino in 2021, where he remained for three seasons, further solidifying his credentials. A brief stint with Roma followed before he took the reins at Southampton in the Premier League.
Most recently, Juric managed Atalanta, leading the team into the Champions League and gaining valuable experience at Europe’s highest club level. Monza’s announcement comes after Paolo Bianco, the manager who guided the club to promotion to Serie A, was officially confirmed as the new coach of Pisa, who were relegated from the top flight after one season. Juric is described by the club as a charismatic and experienced coach capable of instilling intensity and an aggressive, unconventional style of play into his teams.
The appointment of Juric signals Monza’s ambition to build on their recent success and establish themselves as a consistent force in Serie A. His arrival in 2026 will likely see a shift in tactical approach, with expectations high for a more proactive and dynamic style of football.
