Monza have signed Ricardo Mangas on loan from Sporting Lisbon, the Serie A club confirmed on Friday. The 25-year-old Portuguese left-back arrives as reinforcement for manager Raffaele Palladino’s squad following their promotion to the Italian top flight.
Mangas featured in 15 Liga Portugal matches last season, scoring twice and providing one assist. He also made two appearances in the Champions League, facing Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain during Sporting Lisbon’s European campaign. The player is described as versatile, capable of playing as a full-back, wing-back, or winger.
Prior to joining Sporting Lisbon, Mangas played for Boavista, Bordeaux, Vitoria Guimaraes, and Spartak Moscow. His international experience is expected to be a valuable asset for Monza as they adjust to the demands of Serie A. He is viewed as a replacement for Paulo Azzi, who recently transferred to Modena.
