Bayern Munich have been urged to consider a move for SC Freiburg midfielder Johan Manzambi, according to former Bayern star Thomas Müller. Speaking on Magenta TV following Switzerland’s 4-1 victory over Bosnia & Herzegovina, Müller identified the 20-year-old as a player the Bavarian club should closely monitor ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Müller praised Manzambi’s versatility, highlighting his ability to play multiple positions. “He's a player who can play as a number 6, he can play as a number 8, he can play as a number 10,” Müller stated. “He has the number 9 on his back, so maybe we can also sell him as a striker.” The recommendation comes as Manzambi’s future at Freiburg appears uncertain, with the player himself admitting in May that his long-term plans are currently open.
Manzambi has emerged as a promising talent in the Bundesliga with Freiburg, showcasing his technical ability and tactical awareness. He has become a regular fixture in the Freiburg midfield, contributing both defensively and offensively.
