Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha is attracting interest from three Premier League clubs – Newcastle United, Manchester United, and Manchester City – despite signing a long-term contract extension earlier this year, according to Sky Germany.
The 25-year-old joined Dortmund from VfL Wolfsburg in 2023 for a reported €30 million and recently extended his contract with the Bundesliga side until 2030 in March. Dortmund sporting director Ole Book stated last month that the club’s “clear plan” is for Nmecha to remain with the team next season, praising him as “one of the best midfielders in Germany.”
However, Sky Germany reports that Dortmund acknowledge every player has a price, and the strong interest from England could prove difficult to resist. Representatives of Newcastle, Manchester United, and Manchester City have reportedly been in contact with Nmecha’s camp for a considerable period, exploring the possibility of a transfer during the upcoming window.
Nmecha progressed through the Manchester City academy before departing for Wolfsburg on a free transfer in 2021. He established himself as a key player in Wolfsburg’s midfield, making over 90 appearances across all competitions. His move to Dortmund saw him continue his development, quickly becoming an integral part of Edin Terzić’s squad.
He recently featured in Germany’s starting lineup during their 4-0 victory against Finland, demonstrating his growing importance on the international stage. Nmecha is in contention to partner with Aleksandar Pavlović in central midfield for Germany in upcoming tournaments. Should a substantial offer arrive from any of the interested Premier League clubs, Nmecha is understood to be open to a return to England, potentially prompting Dortmund to reconsider their current stance. A move could offer Nmecha the opportunity to compete at the highest level of the Premier League and further his international career.
