Newcastle United have completed the signing of winger Bazoumana Touré from German Bundesliga side Hoffenheim, the club confirmed. The 20-year-old Ivorian international has signed a five-year contract with the Magpies for a reported fee of around €50 million, according to L’Équipe.
Touré arrives at St. James’ Park following a promising season with Hoffenheim, where he registered five goals and nine assists in 32 appearances across all competitions. He also recently featured for the Ivory Coast national team at the World Cup, gaining valuable international experience. The move represents a significant investment by Newcastle in their attacking options.
The transfer is largely seen as a replacement for Anthony Gordon, who recently departed for Barcelona. Gordon had become a key figure in Newcastle’s attack in recent seasons, and the club will be looking to Touré to fill the void left by his departure. Newcastle have been active in the transfer market this summer, also recently bringing in Ewen Jaouen.
Touré is a dynamic winger known for his pace, dribbling ability, and creativity. He primarily operates on the flank, capable of beating defenders and delivering dangerous crosses into the box. His arrival is expected to add a new dimension to Newcastle’s attack and provide competition for places in the forward line. The signing signals Newcastle’s ambition to continue competing at the highest level in both the Premier League and European competitions.
