Newcastle United have completed the signing of winger Bazoumana Touré from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim, the club confirmed on Sunday. The 20-year-old Ivorian international has signed a five-year contract with the Magpies, extending to 2031, for a reported fee of €50 million.
Touré arrives at St. James’ Park after a breakout season with Hoffenheim, where he registered five goals and nine assists in 32 appearances across all competitions. His performances helped the club secure a fifth-place finish in the Bundesliga and qualification for the Europa League. He also featured for the Ivory Coast national team at the recent World Cup, earning nine caps and scoring twice.
The transfer fee represents a club-record sale for Hoffenheim, surpassing the €43.5 million received from Newcastle for Joelinton in 2019. Newcastle have been active in the transfer window following the departure of Anthony Gordon to Barcelona for a reported €80 million, a move that created a vacancy on the left wing.
Manager Eddie Howe is expected to deploy Touré on the left flank, though Lewis Hall remains a key contender for playing time, having made 46 appearances for Newcastle last season. The arrival of Touré follows the earlier signing of Ewen Jaouen from Reims for a fee of €28.5 million, demonstrating Newcastle’s commitment to strengthening their squad ahead of the new campaign. The addition of Touré provides Newcastle with another dynamic attacking option and further strengthens their position as a Premier League force.
