OGC Nice are interested in signing Enzo Molebe from Olympique Lyonnais, according to L’Équipe. The 18-year-old forward has been a target for Nice for several months, with the club particularly impressed by his recent performances during a loan spell at Montpellier. Molebe’s contract with Lyon currently runs until 2029.
Molebe spent the last six months on loan at Montpellier in Ligue 2, where he reportedly made a positive impression. Montpellier were keen to extend the loan agreement, but were unable to meet the financial requirements to secure a permanent deal. The forward joined Lyon’s academy in 2021, progressing through the youth ranks before gaining first-team experience elsewhere.
Nice are currently prioritizing player sales before committing to further additions to their squad. Terem Moffi and Kevin Carlos are identified as players who could depart the club, with their departures potentially freeing up funds and space in the squad for Molebe. Moffi, a Nigerian international, joined Nice last January and has been a regular in the attack, while Carlos has featured as a defender.
The potential arrival of Molebe would bolster Nice’s attacking options ahead of the upcoming season. The club finished ninth in Ligue 1 last season and will be aiming to improve their position in the table. Securing Molebe would provide competition and depth in the forward line, potentially allowing manager Didier Digard more tactical flexibility. This move could offer Molebe a pathway to regular first-team football in Ligue 1.
