Brighton have submitted a new bid of £45 million, including add-ons, for Tottenham defender Luka Vuskovic, according to Fabrizio Romano. This follows previous offers that were rejected by Tottenham, who have recently signed Senesi and Van Hecke, and already possess Micky van de Ven in their defensive ranks. The situation is further complicated by speculation surrounding the future of Cristian Romero.
Romano clarified that Manchester United have not made any approach for Romero, despite recent reports. While United inquired about his situation some months ago, there has been no recent contact, and other clubs are actively pursuing the Argentine. Romero himself is reportedly open to a move to a league outside of England, seeking a new challenge in his career.
Barcelona have reached a verbal agreement to extend the contract of Danish defender Andreas Christensen until June 2028. The deal includes a review clause in 2027, allowing both parties to reassess their future together. This extension secures a key player for Barcelona’s defense for the foreseeable future.
Barcelona are also bolstering their youth ranks with the signing of 18-year-old Ecuadorian winger Josue Caicedo. The deal, similar to the acquisition of Hamza Abdelkarim, involves an initial loan with an option to buy for €2.5 million. This strategy of identifying and securing young talent from around the world is a key component of Barcelona’s recruitment policy.
Manchester City are progressing towards contract extensions for both Josko Gvardiol and Jeremy Doku. Gvardiol’s new deal will run until 2031, ending speculation of interest from Real Madrid, while Doku will sign a five-year extension with a salary increase, recognizing his impressive performances, particularly in the latter part of the season.
Atletico Madrid have identified Bayer Leverkusen’s Alejandro Grimaldo as a target after missing out on Marc Cucurella, who joined Real Madrid. Grimaldo has expressed his desire to join Atletico, and the club is also pursuing Kang-in Lee from PSG. Negotiations with Leverkusen are ongoing, with a potential fee of €12-14 million being discussed.
Finally, Romano dismissed reports linking Tottenham with a move for Mason Greenwood, stating that the club is not currently in talks with the player. While Greenwood has attracted interest from Italian clubs, a move to Tottenham is not under consideration at this time. Manchester United are expected to receive a sell-on clause fee should Greenwood be transferred.
