“Ninety minutes at the Bernabéu are as exhausting as nowhere else,” Kahn said. “The crowd in Madrid is far more intense than in Barcelona; it feels like everything is pressing down on you. The atmosphere can be intimidating. And now, with the roof, it’s even stronger.” The stadium's new retractable roof, completed last year, is designed to contain and amplify crowd noise, potentially heightening the home advantage for Carlo Ancelotti's side.
Kahn also suggested that Real Madrid's turbulent season could paradoxically make them more dangerous opponents in this tie. He pointed to a period of criticism, unrest, and a mid-season coaching change following the departure of Carlo Ancelotti and the brief tenure of Rafael Benítez, before Zinedine Zidane's return. Their dramatic victory over Manchester City in the previous round has, according to Kahn, given the team a renewed sense of purpose. “Real come from a period where they had to overcome many obstacles... And then, suddenly, success against Manchester City, and they feel: Now we can turn the season around. That is exactly what makes Real so dangerous,” he argued.
