Paris FC have agreed a deal to sign Pablo Pagis from Lorient for a fee of €15 million, with a potential further €1.5 million in bonuses contingent on European qualification, according to L’Équipe. The 23-year-old attacking midfielder is set to leave Lorient, a club he has been with since the age of 16.
Pagis enjoyed his most productive season to date in Ligue 1 during the 2023-24 campaign, registering 10 goals and 5 assists in 28 appearances. The son of former Coupe de la Ligue winner Mickaël Pagis, he has developed into a key player for Lorient, showcasing versatility as both a central attacking midfielder and a left winger.
The move to Paris FC represents a significant investment for the club, aiming to bolster their attacking options. Alimami Gory and Moses Simon have not consistently met expectations in those positions, and the arrival of Pagis is intended to address this. Paris FC manager Liam Rosenior will be hoping Pagis can provide a creative spark and goal threat.
This transfer will mark the fourth-largest purchase in Paris FC’s history, behind Patrick Zabi and the impending permanent signing of Italian defender Diego Coppola, who is expected to cost €16 million including bonuses. For Lorient, the sale of Pagis will make him their fifth-highest ever sale, providing a substantial financial boost for the Brittany-based club. The transfer allows Lorient to reinvest funds and potentially strengthen other areas of their squad.
Pagis’s arrival at Paris FC signals the club’s ambition to climb the Ligue 1 table and compete for European places, while Lorient will need to find a suitable replacement for their departing star.
