Paulo Dybala's Roma future in doubt as Boca Juniors, Turkish club table offers
Paulo Dybala faces an uncertain future at AS Roma as the Argentine forward recovers from meniscus surgery, with Boca Juniors and an unnamed Turkish club submitting formal contract proposals. The 30-year-old is expected to miss another month of action before potentially returning for Roma's final five to six Serie A matches this season.
Dybala's agent, Jorge Antun, visited the player at his home this week to discuss the offers, according to Italian media reports. While Boca Juniors have long expressed interest in bringing Dybala back to South America, the new Turkish Super Lig proposal reportedly includes a three-year contract offer. Roma's chances of extending Dybala's deal appear increasingly remote, with negotiations at a standstill.
The 2022 World Cup winner has been Roma's creative fulcrum when fit, contributing 13 goals and nine assists in 25 Serie A appearances this campaign. However, recurring muscle injuries have limited his availability since joining from Juventus on a free transfer two years ago. His current contract contains a €12m release clause valid for foreign clubs until July 31.
Roma manager Daniele De Rossi will need to plan for Dybala's potential departure as the club pushes for Champions League qualification, currently sitting fifth in Serie A. The development comes as fellow attacker Matías Soulé prepares to return from a six-week pubalgia absence, bolstering attacking options ahead of April's crucial match against Inter Milan.
