Wolfsburg striker Dzenan Pejcinovic has informed the club of his desire to transfer to VfB Stuttgart this summer, reports Kicker. The 21-year-old has communicated his preference to Wolfsburg officials despite interest from other clubs both within Germany and abroad.
Pejcinovic has emerged as a promising talent in the Bundesliga, making 26 appearances for Wolfsburg last season and scoring six goals. He has also represented Germany at the Under-21 level, further enhancing his reputation as a player with significant potential. While Wolfsburg are keen to retain the forward, Pejcinovic’s clear indication of his preferred destination could influence their stance.
Negotiations between Wolfsburg and Stuttgart have reportedly encountered difficulties, currently at an impasse. However, Pejcinovic’s strong wish to join Stuttgart may prompt a resumption of talks. Wolfsburg are believed to be holding out for a fee of around €25 million for the player, reflecting his age, contract length, and potential.
Pejcinovic’s current contract with Wolfsburg is valid until 2029, giving the club a strong negotiating position. Stuttgart, who finished eighth in the Bundesliga last season, may see Pejcinovic as a key addition to their attack as they aim to push for European qualification. The transfer could provide Pejcinovic with more consistent first-team opportunities and a platform to further develop his game.
The potential move highlights Stuttgart’s ambition to invest in young, promising players. Securing Pejcinovic would strengthen their attacking options and potentially offer a long-term solution up front. Wolfsburg, meanwhile, would need to identify a suitable replacement should they agree to sell the German Under-21 international.
