Timothée Pembélé has signed a permanent deal with Le Havre, returning to the club after a loan spell last season, according to L’Équipe. The 23-year-old defender will join under manager Didier Digard, having initially been with the Normandy-based side on loan from Sunderland.
Pembélé came through the youth ranks at Paris Saint-Germain before moving to Sunderland, where he struggled to establish himself as a regular starter. His loan to Le Havre provided him with consistent playing time and an opportunity to further develop his game in Ligue 1. The move represents a chance for the young player to secure his future and continue his progression in a familiar environment.
Le Havre are also set to re-sign Amir Richardson on loan from Fiorentina, with an option to buy for €8 million, as reported by Le Parisien. Richardson previously played for Le Havre before departing for the Italian club in 2023, but a recent loan spell with Copenhagen proved unsuccessful. His return would add further depth to Le Havre’s squad.
These acquisitions are part of a broader recruitment strategy led by newly appointed sporting director Demba Ba, aimed at bolstering the team’s chances of avoiding relegation. Le Havre are actively strengthening their squad as they look to establish themselves in the French top flight. The club has been proactive in bringing back familiar faces, suggesting a focus on players who already understand the club’s culture and playing style. These signings indicate a clear intent to build a competitive team capable of navigating the challenges of Ligue 1.
