Southampton are in advanced negotiations to sign goalkeeper Daniel Peretz from Bayern Munich on a permanent deal, according to the Daily Echo. The 25-year-old spent the latter half of the 2025/26 season on loan with the Saints and is now expected to complete a full transfer this week.
Peretz joined Bayern Munich from Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2023 for a reported fee of approximately €5 million. However, he found first-team opportunities limited in Germany, making only a handful of appearances for the Bundesliga champions before securing the loan move to Southampton in January 2026.
During his time at St Mary’s, Peretz quickly established himself as a key player, featuring in 26 matches across all competitions. His performances were a significant factor in Southampton’s push for promotion from the Championship, although they ultimately fell short of reaching the Premier League playoffs. The Daily Echo reports that despite interest from other clubs, Peretz is eager to remain with Southampton and contribute to a promotion push next season.
The move represents a significant opportunity for Peretz to secure regular first-team football, something he was unable to achieve at Bayern Munich. For Southampton, the permanent signing of Peretz provides stability in a crucial position and avoids the need to seek a replacement ahead of the 2026/27 campaign. The financial details of the deal have not yet been disclosed, but it is understood that negotiations are progressing well. This transfer solidifies Southampton’s goalkeeping department as they aim to challenge for promotion to the Premier League.
