Ivan Perisic has publicly expressed his interest in a return to Inter Milan through social media activity, however the club are currently focused on alternative transfer targets. The Croatian winger has repeatedly engaged with Inter-related posts online, most recently resharing a club post celebrating their representation in World Cup finals since 1982.
Perisic’s overtures began during the recent World Cup in Qatar, where he posted a photo with fellow Croatian player Petar Sucic, accompanied by two black and blue hearts – Inter’s colours. Following Croatia’s victory over Ghana, Perisic stated, according to reports, that PSV Eindhoven blocked a potential move to Inter in January. He indicated that Inter’s management were aware of his availability, stating they knew “where to find me” if they wished to pursue a transfer.
At the time, Perisic was considered as a potential short-term solution following an injury to Denzel Dumfries, offering experience and familiarity with the club at a relatively low cost through a loan deal. He previously played for Inter from 2015 to 2019, contributing significantly to their attack and becoming a fan favourite during his time at the San Siro.
Despite Perisic’s clear desire to rejoin the Nerazzurri, the club are reportedly progressing with other transfer options. Sources indicate that the situation has changed since January, and Inter are no longer actively pursuing the 34-year-old. While Perisic’s connection to the club remains strong, it appears his future will not be in Milan, at least for the time being. Inter are currently linked with other targets to bolster their squad ahead of the new season, suggesting a shift in their recruitment strategy.
