Porto have announced the permanent signing of Jakub Kiwior from Arsenal for a guaranteed fee of €17 million. The Poland international spent the 2025-26 season on loan with the Portuguese club, playing a key role in their Primeira Liga title win. The deal includes potential add-ons worth up to €5 million for Arsenal, as well as a €2 million fee payable to the Gunners should Porto sell Kiwior in the future.
Kiwior initially joined Arsenal from Spezia in January 2023 for €19.5 million, but struggled to secure a consistent starting position under Mikel Arteta. Despite showing promise in limited appearances, he was allowed to leave on loan last summer in search of regular first-team football. He quickly established himself as a key player for Porto, partnering with compatriot Jan Bednarek in central defence.
Porto secured the Primeira Liga title this past weekend after Benfica failed to win, finishing nine points clear at the top of the table. This was the club’s 31st league title and 87th trophy overall, marking a successful first season in charge for coach Francesco Farioli. The club publicly disclosed the financial details of the transfer, as is standard practice for publicly listed sporting companies.
Kiwior has signed a contract with Porto that runs until 2030, and the club has included a release clause of €70 million in his contract. His current Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) is €25.4 million, aligning with the financial package Arsenal is set to receive. The Gunners are expected to reinvest funds from the sale, with Piero Hincapie’s loan from Bayer Leverkusen set to become a permanent transfer for €52 million, and further additions in attack potentially on the cards.
