Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested in signing Alexeï Batrakov from Lokomotiv Moscow this summer, according to comments made by Lokomotiv captain Anton Mitryushkin to Legalbet. Mitryushkin expressed confidence that Batrakov will complete a move to the French capital, stating it would be “a blessing for all”.
The 20-year-old midfielder has impressed this season, scoring 13 goals and providing 9 assists in 28 appearances for Lokomotiv Moscow. This form has seemingly caught the attention of the PSG board, who may be looking to add further talent to their squad. The potential move would continue a trend of PSG recruiting from the Russian league, having recently signed goalkeeper Matvey Safonov.
Batrakov currently plays for a Lokomotiv Moscow side that is unable to compete in European competitions due to the ongoing geopolitical situation. This limits the visibility of players in the Russian league, making assessment of their abilities more challenging for clubs outside of Russia. Despite this, Batrakov’s goal contributions suggest a promising attacking midfielder.
Should Batrakov join PSG, he would add depth and competition to their midfield options. The transfer window is still open, and PSG are expected to be active as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of next season. The potential arrival of Batrakov could provide further attacking impetus for the Ligue 1 champions.
