Paris Saint-Germain are monitoring the situation of Bournemouth forward Éli Junior Kroupi, according to L'Équipe. The 19-year-old has impressed in his debut Premier League season, scoring 13 goals in 33 matches for the Cherries.
Kroupi joined Bournemouth last summer from Lorient for a reported €13 million, and the club’s sporting director, Tiago Pinto, is reportedly reluctant to sell the player so soon after previously selling Illia Zabarnyi to PSG. Pinto is said to value Kroupi highly and anticipates significant interest from across Europe this summer.
PSG’s interest in Kroupi aligns with their search for versatile attacking options, including a winger and a forward capable of playing in multiple positions. The club views Kroupi’s ability to play as a central striker, second striker, or winger as a good fit for manager Luis Enrique’s tactical system. The progression of Désiré Doué under Enrique has reportedly been noted by Kroupi and those close to him.
The potential pursuit of Kroupi does not necessarily conflict with PSG’s interest in other attacking targets, such as Maghnes Akliouche of Monaco and Yan Diomande of Leipzig. However, it has led to a slowdown in negotiations for Atlético de Madrid’s Julian Alvarez, with PSG seeking players who are genuinely enthusiastic about joining the club. The club leadership, including Nasser al-Khelaïfi and Luis Campos, have emphasized the importance of player desire in potential transfers.
Kroupi is currently under contract with Bournemouth until 2030, but is open to considering opportunities at larger European clubs. PSG are also reportedly tracking Lokomotiv Moscow’s Alexey Batrakov, a 20-year-old attacking midfielder, with the Russian club anticipating a potential offer.
