The delegation, which included several of Jota's international teammates, laid white roses at the site in a solemn tribute.
Portuguese players within the PSG squad, including João Neves, Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, and Gonçalo Ramos, were among those who paid their respects. The group was accompanied by Campos, who, like the players, laid a bouquet of white roses at the memorial. The players had all known Jota from the Portugal national team setup.
The tribute comes ahead of a high-stakes Champions League match, adding a layer of poignancy to the occasion. The club also paid tribute to the victims of the Hillsborough disaster, which is commemorated at the same memorial. The disaster's 35th anniversary was observed on the day of the visit, and PSG players will wear black armbands and observe a minute's silence before kick-off in memory of the Hillsborough victims and Jota.
Diogo Jota, who was 31 at the time of his passing, had a distinguished career with Liverpool, winning the Premier League and Champions League, and was a key figure for the Portuguese national team. His death, along with that of his brother, sent shockwaves through the football world last summer.
