Paris Saint-Germain attacker Pierre Mounguengue has signed his first professional contract with Dynamo Kiev, the Ukrainian club confirmed on social media. The deal represents a departure for the promising young player, who recently won the Coupe Gambardella with PSG’s youth setup.
Mounguengue, a product of PSG’s academy, scored an impressive 21 goals in 34 appearances this season. Dynamo Kiev welcomed the player to the club, stating they wish him “many victories and trophies” while wearing the club’s colors. The move comes shortly after another PSG youth product, Mathis Jangéal, also departed the club.
Both Mounguengue and Jangéal had made their first team debuts for PSG this season, however, appear to have sought opportunities elsewhere to secure more consistent playing time. This represents a continuing trend of young talent leaving the Parisian club in search of regular first-team football.
The departure of Mounguengue and Jangéal highlights a potential challenge for PSG in retaining its most promising academy graduates. While the club possesses significant financial resources, guaranteeing playing time for developing players in a star-studded squad proves difficult. Dynamo Kiev will hope Mounguengue can replicate his goalscoring form in Ukraine and become a key player for the club.
