Como 1907 defender Jacobo Ramon has stated his happiness with the club and expressed hope that teammate Nico Paz will remain with the team, according to reports from TMW following a press conference after their victory over Parma.
Ramon, speaking after the match, highlighted the team’s defensive philosophy as a key strength, noting their comfort playing a high line. He emphasized the preparation of all defenders to execute this style of play, attributing recent clean sheets to this tactical approach. The 2026 season is his first as a professional footballer.
The victory over Parma represents a historic result for both Como and for Ramon personally, marking a significant achievement in his debut professional season. The team is now focused on their upcoming match against Cremona, aiming for another win and harbouring ambitions of securing a Champions League spot.
When asked about the toughest opponent he has faced this season, Ramon singled out Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman, stating he was “really impressed” by the forward’s performance. This acknowledgement comes after a season where Lookman has been a consistent threat in Serie A, contributing significantly to Atalanta’s attack.
Ramon also addressed the future of Nico Paz, expressing the team’s desire for the player to stay at Como. He reiterated his own contentment at the club, while remaining open about what the future holds. Como currently sit in a strong position in the Serie A table, competing with established teams for European qualification, and Ramon believes they are capable of challenging the league’s best.
