Rangers Football Club are preparing for a comprehensive review of the 2025/26 season, with manager Danny Rohl’s future at Ibrox under significant scrutiny, according to TEAMtalk. The review comes after a recent slump in form saw the club’s title challenge and Champions League qualification hopes effectively end with three consecutive defeats.
Rohl initially revitalised Rangers after a difficult start to the season, briefly placing them at the top of the Scottish Premiership table. However, the recent downturn in results has prompted frustration amongst supporters and raised questions about his long-term suitability for the demanding role. Club chairman Andrew Cavanagh is reportedly determined to restore Rangers to their former success.
Cavanagh’s vision is aligned with the ambitions of the club’s ownership group, 49ers Enterprises, who have indicated their willingness to invest heavily in the summer transfer market. The review process will assess multiple facets of the club’s performance, including squad development, recruitment strategy, style of play, and progress in European competitions.
While Rohl has received some support from within the board for his work in developing younger players and implementing a progressive style of play, the pressure to deliver silverware is mounting. Concerns have also been raised regarding his attacking coaching. The 49ers are prepared to sanction funds for key reinforcements, particularly in defence and attack, to close the gap with rivals Celtic.
Discussions regarding potential managerial changes or additions to Rohl’s backroom staff will be led by Cavanagh, depending on the outcome of the review. A majority of Rangers fans are reportedly ready for a change in management. The ownership group has made it clear that success is paramount and will provide the necessary resources to achieve it.
