Rangers are continuing to monitor Dundee centre-back Luke Graham, with over 40 clubs across the United Kingdom and Europe also expressing interest following his impressive performances in the Scottish Premiership. The 22-year-old earned Dundee’s Players’ Player of the Year award and received a call-up to the senior Scotland squad, though he didn’t make the final World Cup roster.
TEAMtalk first reported Rangers’ interest in Graham back in April, and that interest remains strong as new manager Derek McInnes assesses potential squad additions. The Gers are seeking to bolster their central defence, particularly with uncertainty surrounding the future of Emmanuel Fernandez, who has been linked with a potential record-breaking move to Bayer Leverkusen.
Graham has one year remaining on his current contract with Dundee, making him poised for a significant transfer this summer. The Perth-born defender has publicly stated his ambition to play at a higher level, with the English Championship specifically mentioned as a desirable destination. Several Championship clubs are actively monitoring his situation, including Portsmouth, Derby County, Norwich City, Stoke City, Preston North End, Lincoln City, and Charlton Athletic.
Portsmouth previously submitted a £1.5 million bid for Graham in January, which was rejected by Dundee. Manager John Mousinho is known to be an admirer of the player and is expected to return with an improved offer. Interest also extends beyond the UK, with Schalke 04, Valencia, Red Bull Salzburg, Sturm Graz, Famalicao, Lech Poznan, and Jagiellonia Bialystok all registering their interest in the Scotland international. Dundee have confirmed they have not yet received any formal offers for Graham, but anticipate a potential club-record fee should he depart. Manager Steven Pressley has indicated any funds received would be reinvested into the squad. Graham himself is focused on his current performances, despite the growing speculation surrounding his future.
