Rashford’s loan spell at Barcelona did not result in a permanent transfer, with the Spanish club opting not to trigger the £26 million buy-option. Reports suggest Rashford still harbors interest in a return to Barcelona, with the club potentially seeking another loan deal. However, United are reportedly seeking a permanent sale or, failing that, reintegration of the England international into the first team.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano stated that United’s focus is on strengthening their midfield options. He clarified that while Summerville is a player they appreciate, any move for the Dutch international is dependent on Rashford’s situation.
