RB Leipzig are aiming to generate €113 million through player sales this summer to fund their own transfer activity, according to reports in Germany. The Bundesliga club currently boasts a squad of 35 professionals and is under pressure to increase revenue, particularly as new coach Martín Demichelis assesses the current roster.
Recent reports from BILD indicate that Leipzig have identified a list of 15 players who could be sold or released. Demichelis has stated he will give each player “four or five weeks to show what he can do,” before making decisions on their futures. The new coach emphasized the need for time to properly evaluate each player’s suitability for the squad.
Conrad Harder, who arrived last summer, has already been offered to other clubs, suggesting he is not currently in Demichelis’ plans. Johan Bakayoko, also a recent acquisition, is reportedly being given an opportunity to impress, but his position remains under evaluation. The club is also open to offers for defenders El Chadaille Bitshiabu and Castello Lukeba, whose places are threatened by the arrival of Maxime Estéve.
Lukas Klostermann, Eljif Elmas, Lutsharel Geertruida, and Arthur Veermeeren have also been informed they are free to seek moves elsewhere. Several younger players, including Ezechiel Banzuzi, Andrija Maksimovic, and Viggo Gebel, will be closely monitored during pre-season and face a challenge to secure their places in the team. Leipzig’s willingness to sell a significant number of players highlights their financial priorities and desire to reshape the squad under new management.
