Real Madrid are poised to make a club-record bid of €150 million for Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise this summer, should Florentino Pérez be re-elected as club president on Sunday. Pérez revealed his intention to submit a significant offer for a “great player” to a Champions League club next week, describing it as the highest transfer fee in Real Madrid’s history.
Speaking to Cuatro’s “Horizonte” programme, Pérez stated, “On Tuesday, I'm going to make an offer to an important, Champions League club, for a great player.” He further clarified the potential fee, stating, “It would be the most money that Real Madrid have paid for a player in history. At least €150 million.” While initially denying Olise was the target, The Telegraph reports that the France international is indeed the player in question.
Pérez’s initial comments included a list of players he insisted were not the subject of the impending bid, specifically naming Michael Olise, Harry Kane, Jeremy Doku, and Erling Haaland. He described the intended signing as a “total Galáctico” who plays either in midfield or further forward, and is not currently based in the Premier League. Despite these denials, sources indicate Olise is the player Pérez had in mind.
Olise joined Bayern Munich from Crystal Palace in July 2023, quickly establishing himself as a key player for the Bundesliga champions. He recently earned the 2025/26 Bundesliga Player of the Season award, demonstrating his impact on the pitch. The 27-year-old has a contract with Bayern that runs until 2029, and the club’s management has publicly stated their unwillingness to sell him this summer.
Bayern’s firm stance presents a significant hurdle to Real Madrid’s pursuit, despite the substantial financial offer. Pérez’s re-election on Sunday is a prerequisite for the bid to be formally submitted, and even then, convincing Bayern to part with Olise will be a considerable challenge. Should Real Madrid succeed, the transfer would represent a significant statement of intent and further bolster their attacking options, potentially solidifying their position as a dominant force in European football.
