Real Madrid Table Record Offer for Bayern Munich's Michael Olise
Real Madrid have made a record-breaking offer to sign Michael Olise from Bayern Munich, according to reports. The Spanish giants have submitted a bid in the region of €160-165 million for the 24-year-old French winger, according to Bild journalist Christian Falk. This offer is understood to have been made in recent days as the Spanish giants look to secure one of Europe's most in-form attacking talents.
If accepted, the fee would shatter Real Madrid's existing transfer record, the €115 million paid to Chelsea for Eden Hazard in 2019. However, the bid is not expected to be accepted. Bayern Munich, who signed Olise from Crystal Palace for €53 million in 2024, have consistently stated the player is not for sale. CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen recently told Sky Germany that the club has no intention of selling and that the 24-year-old is a key part of their long-term project.
Olise has been in sensational form this season, directly contributing to 45 goals (16 goals, 29 assists) in 41 games across all competitions. His stellar performances were on full display in the Champions League, where he was instrumental in Bayern's 2-1 quarter-final first-leg victory over Real Madrid, a performance that only intensified the Spanish club's interest. His Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) is currently assessed at €141 million, making him the most valuable French player in world football, according to data analytics.
The 24-year-old's development has been rapid. After a breakout season at Crystal Palace, his £35 million move to Bayern in 2024 now looks a bargain. His former manager at Crystal Palace, Oliver Glasner, recently praised his development, stating, "I watched the game against Real Madrid. It was a great game to watch, and he was outstanding. His end to the season is incredible. This isn't his ceiling; he can still do better!" Data analytics firm SciSports currently rates Olise's current ability higher than that of Real Madrid's own superstar, Kylian Mbappé, underlining his status as one of Europe's most potent attacking forces.
For Bayern, the financial incentive to sell is minimal. With Olise under contract until 2029 and no release clause, the German champions are under no pressure to sell, and a marginal profit on a €165 million offer is not considered sufficient for a player deemed central to their future. For Real Madrid, the pursuit signals a long-term ambition to secure a world-class successor for their aging forward line, viewing Olise as a potential Ballon d'Or contender. The move is seen as a direct challenge to the financial might of the Premier League, where Liverpool have also been linked with the player. While the initial offer is likely to be rejected, it sets the stage for a major saga this summer, testing Bayern's resolve and Real Madrid's financial firepower.
