Real Madrid are now pursuing Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig after Bayern Munich indicated they would not entertain any offers for Michael Olise, according to Sky Sports.
Bayern’s stance effectively closes the door on a potential deal for Olise, a long-term target for Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez, who reportedly prioritised maintaining a positive relationship with the German champions over aggressively pursuing the Crystal Palace winger. Pérez was unwilling to risk damaging ties with Bayern by pushing for a transfer despite their reluctance to negotiate.
As a result, Real Madrid have quickly redirected their efforts towards Diomande, a fellow Bundesliga winger who impressed during his debut season with RB Leipzig. While Paris Saint-Germain were previously considered frontrunners for the Ivorian’s signature, Real Madrid are now optimistic about securing his services. The Spanish giants saw an initial bid of €100 million rejected by Leipzig on Friday, but are expected to continue negotiations.
Diomande enjoyed a productive first season in the Bundesliga, scoring 13 goals for Leipzig and establishing himself as a promising young talent. His performances have attracted attention from several top European clubs, and his arrival at the Santiago Bernabéu would provide Real Madrid with another attacking option. Both Diomande and Olise were absent from pre-season preparations with their respective clubs due to their recent participation in the World Cup.
The move for Diomande suggests Real Madrid are seeking a dynamic winger capable of contributing goals and assists, potentially to provide competition or cover for Vinícius Júnior and Rodrygo.
