Roma have emerged as a potential destination for Ipswich Town winger Jaden Philogene, according to TEAMtalk. The Serie A club are monitoring the 24-year-old closely as they seek to bolster their attacking options ahead of a Champions League campaign, having tracked him for several months.
Philogene joined Ipswich from Aston Villa in January of last year for a reported £20million plus add-ons, quickly becoming a key player for the Tractor Boys. He played a pivotal role in their promotion to the Premier League, scoring 13 goals in all competitions last season. Ipswich secured his signature after fending off interest from Everton.
The winger recently signed with the Team Raiola agency, a move that has fuelled speculation regarding a potential departure from Portman Road. Ipswich, now financially stable under their American ownership, are reportedly willing to consider substantial offers that reflect Philogene’s current market value, which is understood to be at least £35million.
Bologna had previously expressed interest in Philogene earlier in the summer, inquiring about the conditions of a potential deal, but the asking price is likely beyond their reach. Portuguese side Benfica have also entered the race, offering the prospect of regular European football. Beşiktaş have also been linked, though a move to Turkey appears less likely at this stage in Philogene’s career.
Philogene is under contract with Ipswich until 2029, demonstrating the club’s high valuation of the player. However, with his new representation and his own ambition to play at the highest level, a move this summer is increasingly plausible. The transfer window remains open, leaving time for negotiations to progress.
