Roma are accelerating their pursuit of RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa as they seek to salvage their summer transfer window following setbacks in deals for Greenwood, Summerville, and Celik, according to reports from Italy. The club is facing pressure to secure new signings quickly after missing out on several targets.
Roma have initiated direct contact with Leipzig regarding Nusa, with the German club reportedly demanding a fee of €60 million, potentially negotiable down to €55 million. This figure represents a slightly higher cost than the ultimately unsuccessful pursuit of Ryan Summerville, factoring in transfer fees, bonuses, and agent commissions. The need for a left-sided attacker has been a persistent issue for Roma, and Nusa has emerged as a priority target for manager Daniele De Rossi.
While Nusa’s current salary at Leipzig is approximately €2 million per year until 2029, Roma believe they can offer a competitive wage within the €4.5-5 million range. Convincing Nusa to choose Roma over potential offers from Premier League clubs like Newcastle and Arsenal will be crucial, with De Rossi’s track record of developing attackers – including successes with Retegui, Lookman, and Papu Gomez – being a key selling point.
