Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is reportedly considering a move to Turkish side Fenerbahce, according to claims emerging from Turkey. The report from A Spor suggests Salah wants to continue his career in Europe, despite long-standing and lucrative interest from the Saudi Pro League. It is claimed Fenerbahce have held two meetings with Salah's agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, and that the player expects an annual salary of around €20 million.
The 33-year-old Egyptian icon is confirmed to be leaving Liverpool this summer upon the expiry of his contract, bringing an end to a legendary seven-year spell at Anfield. His departure marks the end of an era for the Reds, who are now under the management of Arne Slot. While Saudi Arabian clubs have been widely expected to be Salah's next destination, this new report presents a potential twist in the saga.
Fenerbahce, who typically allocate significant resources to player wages, are due to hold further talks with Salah's camp in the coming weeks. Salah currently earns approximately £400,000 per week at Liverpool, a figure the Turkish club may attempt to approach. However, these claims are contradicted by other sources, with TEAMtalk reporting that Saudi officials remain increasingly confident of securing Salah's signature.
Meanwhile, Liverpool's search for a successor to Salah is underway. The club has identified RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande as a potential target, though the German club's €100 million valuation and potential plans to extend his contract present significant obstacles. The need for a major attacking reinforcement is acute for a Liverpool side that has endured a difficult season.
In a separate development, Liverpool also face competition from Manchester United for Barcelona left-back Alejandro Balde. With Andy Robertson also set to depart, Liverpool are in the market for a new full-back. Spanish outlet Sport reports that Barcelona could be tempted to sell the 22-year-old Balde for an offer in excess of €50 million, though the player's preference is to stay and fight for his place at Camp Nou. United are said to be exploring a deal, potentially setting up a Premier League battle for his signature.
Further complicating Liverpool's summer plans, the club has received a setback in its reported interest in West Ham players. According to insider Graeme Bailey, West Ham plan to reject all advances for key trio Mateus Fernandes, Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville. Liverpool have been linked with moves for both Fernandes and boyhood fan Bowen, though the Hammers' stance currently blocks any potential deal.
