RB Salzburg and Hoffenheim have reached an agreement for the transfer of Haris Tabaković, according to reports from Balkan news outlet N1. The deal is believed to be worth around €5 million, though the transfer is not yet finalized.
The 32-year-old forward is currently negotiating personal terms with the Austrian side, and has not yet given his approval to the move. Several other clubs are still monitoring the situation, including teams within the Bundesliga, potentially complicating Salzburg’s efforts to secure his signature. Tabaković was previously strongly linked with a permanent transfer to Borussia Mönchengladbach following a successful loan spell with the club.
That potential move to Mönchengladbach reportedly collapsed due to financial disagreements between the two clubs. During his loan period with Die Fohlen, Tabaković proved to be a prolific goalscorer, netting 13 Bundesliga goals in 32 appearances. His consistent performances quickly made him a key player in their attack.
Tabaković began his professional career with Bosnian side Željezničar Sarajevo before moving to Croatia with NK Lokomotiva Zagreb in 2016. He then spent time in the Polish Ekstraklasa with Jagiellonia Białystok, before joining Hoffenheim in 2019. While he has shown flashes of potential with the German club, he has often found himself in and out of the starting eleven.
Salzburg are looking to strengthen their attacking options ahead of their Champions League campaign, and see Tabaković as a proven goalscorer who can make an immediate impact. The addition of an experienced striker like Tabaković could provide a valuable boost to Salzburg’s attacking depth and European ambitions.
