Sampdoria are exploring a potential loan move for eighteen-year-old forward Francesco Camarda, according to reports from Genoa. The newly appointed manager, Bernardo Corradi, sees Camarda as a potential addition to a squad aiming for promotion in Serie A, though a deal is not yet finalized.
Camarda recently returned to Milan after a season-long loan spell at Lecce, where the club exercised their counter-option to bring him back for a fee of €4 million, having initially given Lecce the option to buy for €3 million. While highly regarded for his potential and record of precociousness, Camarda’s experience at the senior level remains limited. He scored one goal in 21 Serie A appearances for Lecce, alongside two cup appearances without finding the net.
His time at Lecce was also hampered by a shoulder injury sustained in January, sidelining him for approximately fifteen matches. Sampdoria’s coaching staff will need to assess Camarda’s physical condition and determine how best to integrate him into a potential 4-3-3 formation, currently being considered by Corradi. The club is also monitoring the fitness of Lorenzo Insigne, who is currently undergoing a carefully managed return to full training following a period of recovery.
Sampdoria are also evaluating other attacking options, including Gennaro Tutino, who has returned from a loan spell at Avellino with a contract running until 2028. The club is prioritizing the signing of a starting goalkeeper and a defender, with Kostas Lykogiannis, a free agent after leaving Bologna, among the candidates, though negotiations regarding his wage demands are ongoing. Sampdoria also reportedly made an inquiry about Franco-Congolese forward Charpentier, who is currently a free agent after leaving Cracovia.
