Schalke 04 are in pursuit of Eintracht Frankfurt winger Junior Dina Ebimbe, according to Sky Germany. The newly promoted Bundesliga side are expected to begin formal negotiations with Frankfurt imminently regarding a permanent transfer for the Cameroon international.
Frankfurt are anticipated to seek a fee of up to €3million for Ebimbe, as reported by transfer expert Florian Plettenberg. However, Schalke are currently only willing to offer around €1million, creating a significant gap in valuation between the two clubs. Despite the difference in asking price, Ebimbe is reportedly open to the move, having seemingly given the transfer his consideration.
Dina Ebimbe spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Brest in Ligue 1, where he featured in 27 matches and contributed five goals alongside one assist. Prior to his loan spell, the 25-year-old had been a squad player for Frankfurt, making intermittent appearances in both the Bundesliga and Champions League since joining the club in 2021 from Caen. He has also represented France at youth levels before committing to the Cameroon national team.
Schalke’s interest in Ebimbe comes as they look to bolster their attacking options following their promotion back to the Bundesliga. The club is undergoing a rebuild under new management and is seeking players capable of making an immediate impact in the top flight. Securing Ebimbe’s signature would provide Schalke with a dynamic winger with proven goal-scoring ability, though bridging the financial gap with Frankfurt will be crucial to completing the deal. This transfer could provide Ebimbe with a more consistent starting role than he previously enjoyed in Frankfurt.
