Atlético Madrid manager Diego Simeone is actively pushing for the transfer of Juventus winger Nico González in the coming weeks, according to reports in Italy. Simeone has been monitoring González throughout the World Cup and maintains a strong relationship with the player, hoping to bring him back to Madrid after August 15th.
González, who previously played in Italy with Fiorentina, has reportedly expressed a desire to reunite with Simeone, but Juventus are holding firm on a valuation of at least €30 million. The Turin club are encouraged by González’s performance at the World Cup, which has helped maintain his market value. While not a key player for Argentina, he provided value to the squad during their successful campaign.
Juventus officials are prepared to restart negotiations with Atlético Madrid if the Spanish club can approach the previous fee discussed for a loan with an option to buy. Otherwise, Luciano Spalletti, the new Juventus manager, is content to integrate González into his attacking plans. The situation is further complicated by potential interest from other clubs, though Juventus appear resolute in their asking price.
Beyond González, Juventus are also considering several outgoings. Turkish side Besiktas have expressed interest in Juan Cabal, having previously targeted Juventus goalkeeper Alessio Di Gregorio. Cabal is also admired by Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Italiano, potentially influencing his destination. Juventus are seeking a fee of €10 million for the Colombian.
Federico Gatti is another player attracting attention, with Napoli showing interest following an injury to Alessandro Buongiorno. Premier League clubs Everton and Sunderland have also enquired about the centre-back, but Gatti is currently awaiting a decision from Max Allegri. Juventus are also seeking resolutions for Arthur and Arkadiusz Milik, both of whom are reluctant to agree to contract terminations, creating a challenge for Spalletti in managing a large squad.
