Giovanni Simeone will continue with Torino after positive talks between the club and his representatives, according to reports from Italy. President Urbano Cairo, sporting director Gianluca Petrachi, and Simeone’s agents met in Milan on Thursday to reaffirm the player’s commitment and the club’s desire to retain him.
The forward signed a contract with Torino extending through June 30, 2028, and is eager to build on his successful first season with the club. Simeone joined Torino last summer and quickly established himself as a key player, scoring eleven goals in Serie A – his highest tally since the 2018-19 season with Verona.
The discussions served to outline the club’s vision for the future under new manager Ignazio Abate, who replaced Ivan Juric at the end of the season. There were reportedly no doubts about Simeone’s future at the club, with Torino viewing him as a central figure in their new project. Simeone’s professional attitude and integration into the team were also highlighted by the club.
Beyond the sporting aspects, Simeone has developed a personal connection with the city of Turin, where his first child was born. He is reportedly enthusiastic about continuing to contribute to the team and taking on a leadership role, particularly with the anticipated arrival of several young players. Simeone aims to surpass his goal tally from the previous season and solidify his position as a key player for Abate’s side. Torino officials believe Simeone’s experience and commitment will be invaluable as they approach the new campaign.
