Lassine Sinayoko is poised to join Paris FC from Auxerre, though the transfer remains contingent on a final agreement between the two clubs, according to L’Équipe. The forward has been in dispute with Auxerre’s management over the terms of his departure, leading him to go on strike from training after communicating his intentions to coach Will Still and teammates.
Sinayoko reportedly believes he has a release clause of €6.5 million, plus bonuses, based on a letter from Auxerre president Baptiste Malherbe from last August when a move to Lens was proposed. However, Auxerre now values the player higher, citing his 12 Ligue 1 goals from last season and arguing his worth has increased since signing a contract extension through June 2027.
The disagreement centers on the interpretation of the president’s letter, which Auxerre now views as a negotiation starting point rather than a binding agreement. Relations between the clubs have reportedly deteriorated since the February sale of Rudy Matondo, complicating negotiations. Despite interest from Hull City, who were prepared to offer up to €13 million plus bonuses, Sinayoko is determined to sign for Paris FC.
An agreement in principle has reportedly been reached between Auxerre and Paris FC, with the fee expected to fall between €6.5 million and €10 million, excluding bonuses. Auxerre’s management has requested Sinayoko return to the club for a final discussion before finalizing the transfer, hoping to reach a resolution where both parties can move forward. Sinayoko played a key role in Auxerre’s successful fight to avoid relegation from Ligue 1 last season, making him a valuable asset.
