Luciano Spalletti has begun outlining transfer targets for Juventus following the failed pursuits of Bernardo Silva and Alisson Becker, according to reports from Italy. Silva is set to join Atletico Madrid on a free transfer from Manchester City, while a deal for Liverpool’s Alisson Becker has stalled.
Spalletti has identified Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae and Real Madrid attacking midfielder Brahim Diaz as potential reinforcements. Kim previously played under Spalletti at Napoli during their Scudetto-winning 2022-23 season, and the manager is keen to reunite with the South Korean centre-back, appreciating his physicality, speed, and ability to both defend and build from the back. Kim’s limited playing time in Bavaria could facilitate a move. Diaz, currently a squad player at Real Madrid, impressed Spalletti during his time at Milan, and the Juventus manager believes the Moroccan international possesses the qualities to unlock defenses.
Securing Diaz would require a significant investment from Juventus, but Spalletti views him as a viable alternative to Silva. The club is also continuing to evaluate options in goal following the difficulties in signing Alisson. A significant area for improvement is the Juventus attack, and while renewing the contract of Dusan Vlahovic remains a priority, talks are currently stalled as Vlahovic and his representatives assess interest from other European clubs.
Spalletti is also considering Randal Kolo Muani, who is hoping for a move to Juventus and is the subject of planned talks with Paris Saint-Germain, who are open to a permanent sale after a loan spell at Newcastle United. Another potential option is Crystal Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta. Juventus are clearly aiming to overhaul their squad under Spalletti, focusing on players with personality, quality, and experience in Italian football. These additions would aim to address key weaknesses and return the club to its former glory.
