Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti has publicly addressed Dusan Vlahovic’s contract situation, stating the player is aware of his position within the team despite a lack of recent communication. According to reports in the Italian press, Spalletti confirmed no discussions have taken place since the end of last season, but emphasized Vlahovic “knows what I think.” This statement comes as contract renewal negotiations between the club and the Serbian striker remain stalled.
Vlahovic and Juventus have been in talks for months regarding an extension to his current deal, but the player has not accepted the terms offered by the club, reportedly straining his relationship with former sporting director Federico Comolli. The arrival of Cristiano Carnevali as the new sporting director prompted Vlahovic to await contact, but no call has materialized, suggesting the club’s position has not changed. Juventus are aiming to offer a deal around €6 million net per season, with potential bonuses and a possible contract extension, while Vlahovic is reportedly seeking at least €8 million as a base salary, alongside individual and team performance bonuses.
Spalletti’s comments signal a clear preference for Vlahovic as his central striker, but also highlight the financial impasse. The manager’s assessment suggests that a willingness from Vlahovic to compromise and accept the club's offer would solidify his place as the first-choice forward. However, with Arkadiusz Milik also vying for a starting position and reportedly determined to stay at the club, Vlahovic risks falling out of favor if he does not reach an agreement.
Juventus are simultaneously pursuing Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani as a potential alternative. Reports suggest Spalletti’s public message could be a tactic to apply pressure on Kolo Muani to push for a move and potentially lower his wage demands, as he has already shown willingness to reduce his salary to join Juventus. However, a significant gap remains between Juventus’ offer and Frankfurt’s asking price for the French forward. The situation remains fluid, with both Vlahovic’s future and the pursuit of Kolo Muani dependent on ongoing negotiations and player decisions.
