According to reports in Italy, the new Juventus manager is particularly interested in assessing Douglas Luiz, whose characteristics appeal to Spalletti, though he needs to be evaluated in match situations.
Luiz is currently among a group of players at the Juventus training ground awaiting clarity on their roles. Another player under consideration is Nico Gonzalez, however, the Argentinian has reportedly indicated he is not interested in staying with Juventus, preferring to return to Atletico Madrid following his post-World Cup break. Gonzalez’s preference potentially opens the door for Zhegrova to compete for a place in the squad, hoping to improve upon a disappointing first season with the club.
The Juventus management are also dealing with several players who wish to remain at the club despite not being central to Spalletti’s plans.
