Sporting Lisbon are on the verge of completing a deal to sign midfielder Silas Andersen from Swedish side Hacken, according to reports in Italy. The transfer is expected to be worth €10 million, with €7.25 million paid upfront and a further €2.75 million in potential bonuses.
Andersen, a Danish youth international born in 2004, previously spent two seasons within Inter Milan’s youth setup. He arrived at Inter from Copenhagen in the summer of 2021, signing a three-year contract and arriving with considerable expectations. During his time with Inter’s Under 18 and Primavera teams, he made 62 appearances and scored five goals, but ultimately failed to establish himself as a standout player despite possessing a strong physical presence and technical ability.
In September 2023, Andersen departed Inter for Utrecht in the Netherlands, initially joining the reserve team before making his Eredivisie debut in March 2024. His breakthrough came in January 2025 with a move to Hacken for a fee of €1 million. In Sweden, Andersen quickly became one of the league’s most promising young players, featuring in both the Europa League and Conference League, which subsequently attracted interest from several European clubs.
The deal, as reported by Tipsbladet, also includes a percentage for Hacken on any future sale of the player. Andersen is set to sign a contract with Sporting Lisbon that runs until June 30, 2031, and will include an €80 million release clause. The transfer has prompted reflection on Inter’s decision to sell Andersen to Utrecht in the summer of 2023, essentially for free, given the significant fee now being paid by Sporting Lisbon. This move allows Sporting to further bolster their midfield options and potentially profit from Andersen’s development in the future.
