Tottenham Hotspur are progressing in talks with Manchester City over a £60 million deal for winger Savinho, with manager Roberto De Zerbi a strong advocate for the Brazilian’s signing. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported on Saturday that De Zerbi has specifically requested the addition of Savinho following rebuilds of the midfield and defense.
Spurs have already been active in the summer transfer window, bringing in players such as Sandro Tonali and Andy Robertson, but De Zerbi believes Savinho possesses the qualities needed to elevate the attack. Romano stated that De Zerbi is seeking “important players” to add quality, rather than simply adding depth to the squad.
Savinho, 22, previously attracted Tottenham’s interest in the summer of 2025, though he ultimately signed a new contract with Manchester City. According to sources cited by TransfersDaily, Tottenham believe the winger’s prior experience adapting to the Premier League will allow him to make an immediate impact, avoiding a lengthy adaptation period.
Transfer insider Graeme Bailey reported that De Zerbi has given a “overwhelmingly positive assessment” of Savinho during recruitment discussions. The primary hurdle to completing the transfer remains securing a “green light” from Manchester City, potentially contingent on them finding a replacement. City were previously linked with a move for Yan Diomande, but that deal is no longer active.
The potential arrival of Savinho would further strengthen Tottenham’s attacking options as they aim to challenge for a top-four spot in the Premier League. The move signals De Zerbi’s clear vision for the squad and his intent to build a competitive team capable of sustained success.
