Tottenham Hotspur have been active in the transfer market following their Premier League safety, bringing in four new players as Roberto De Zerbi reshapes the squad. The club confirmed the free transfer of experienced goalkeeper Martin Dubravka from Burnley, adding depth to the position with Guglielmo Vicario expected to depart. Dubravka, previously a backup at Manchester United, expressed his excitement at joining one of England’s biggest clubs and working with De Zerbi.
Spurs have also secured the services of centre-back Jan-Paul van Hecke from Brighton for a fee of £52 million, after two previous bids were rejected. Van Hecke, who previously worked with De Zerbi, described the move as a dream come true and highlighted positive conversations with teammate Micky van de Ven. The club further strengthened their defensive options with the free acquisition of Argentine centre-back Marcos Senesi from Bournemouth, who will wear the number five shirt and aims to help the club return to its former glory.
Completing the quartet of arrivals is Scotland international left-back Andy Robertson, joining on a free transfer after his contract with Liverpool expired. De Zerbi praised Robertson’s technical qualities, experience, and leadership, anticipating a significant impact both on and off the pitch. Robertson will compete with Destiny Udogie for the starting left-back position.
Alongside the incomings, Tottenham have also seen some departures. Striker Alejo Veliz has joined Brazilian side Bahia for a fee of £7.7 million after a loan spell back at Rosario Central, while midfielder Yves Bissouma has been released at the end of his contract following four years at the club. Spurs are expected to continue their business, with attacking reinforcements and a potential decision on the future of loanee Joao Palhinha high on the agenda. They are also reportedly fending off interest in young defender Luka Vuskovic.
