Tottenham Hotspur are preparing a bid for Bournemouth forward El Junior Kroupi, with reports suggesting a fee of over £75 million (€87.5m / $100m) may be required to secure his signature, according to TEAMtalk. The move comes as new head coach Roberto De Zerbi seeks to bolster his attacking options following a busy summer of recruitment which has already seen Mateus Fernandes, Sandro Tonali, Marcos Senesi, Jan Paul van Hecke, Andy Robertson and Martin Dubravka arrive at the club.
Spurs have been heavily backing De Zerbi since his appointment, and while significant investment has been made in defence and midfield, the focus has now shifted to strengthening the attack with a left-sided forward and a centre forward prioritized. Tottenham are also reportedly considering AC Milan’s Rafael Leao, West Ham’s Crysencio Summerville, Manchester City’s Savinho and Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo, but Kroupi has emerged as a leading target.
Kroupi, a France Under-21 international, enjoyed a breakthrough season with Bournemouth, scoring 13 goals and establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s most promising young forwards. Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with the 20-year-old, viewing him as a potential replacement for Goncalo Ramos, but Tottenham believe they can offer a more appealing pathway to regular first-team football. While a move to Paris may see him initially play as a backup, De Zerbi is expected to offer Kroupi the opportunity to lead the line for Spurs.
Bournemouth are currently resisting any attempts to sell Kroupi, maintaining their desire to build their team around the young forward, similar to their stance with Alex Scott earlier in the summer. However, Tottenham are optimistic that both Kroupi and his representatives would be receptive to a move should the opportunity arise. In addition to Kroupi, Tottenham have also been offered former Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic on a free transfer, though Besiktas are currently leading the race for his signature. Vlahovic brings a wealth of experience, having scored 120 goals in 303 club appearances, but Kroupi remains the primary target for De Zerbi’s side as they continue their ambitious rebuild.
