Crysencio Summerville has completed a transfer to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal from West Ham United for a fee of €70 million, according to reports in France. The 24-year-old winger has signed a four-year contract with the Riyadh-based club.
Summerville had been attracting attention from several European clubs following his performances in the group stage of the recent World Cup, as well as West Ham’s relegation to the Championship. Roma were reportedly interested in the player, offering €45 million, but their bid was ultimately unsuccessful.
Having recently earned his first international caps, Summerville reportedly favoured a move away from London and the opportunity to play alongside Karim Benzema. He becomes one of the most expensive Dutch players in history, behind only Frenkie de Jong and Virgil van Dijk.
The winger previously played for Feyenoord and ADO Den Haag before joining West Ham. He is known for his dribbling ability and attacking flair, often drawing comparisons to Arjen Robben, whom he admires. The move to Al-Hilal represents a significant financial boost for West Ham following their relegation.
