Kysha Sylla has completed a permanent transfer from Olympique Lyonnais to Juventus, the Italian club confirmed on Wednesday. The 22-year-old French defender has signed a contract with Juventus that runs until June 30, 2029. Financial details of the transfer were not disclosed by either club.
Sylla departs Lyon having come through the club’s youth academy, though her recent spell with OL Lyonnes saw her loaned to Paris FC for six months beginning in January. Prior to that loan, she had a stint with Dijon in 2023 and also spent time with Washington Spirit in the National Women’s Soccer League, though that move was also a loan spell. She will wear the number 4 shirt for Juventus.
The move to Juventus provides Sylla with a platform for regular first-team football, something that was not guaranteed at Lyon given the competition for places in their squad. Juventus have been actively strengthening their squad in recent seasons as they aim to compete for the Serie A title and make an impact in the Champions League. Sylla’s arrival adds depth and quality to their defensive options.
Sylla received her first call-up to the French national team in October, being selected by head coach Laurent Bonadei for the Nations League semi-final against Germany. Despite not yet establishing herself as a regular in the national team, the move to a prominent European club like Juventus will likely enhance her prospects of further international recognition. Her development will be closely monitored by Bonadei as France prepares for future international tournaments.
This transfer represents a significant step in Sylla’s career, offering her the chance to play in a competitive league and showcase her talent on a larger stage. Juventus will hope Sylla can quickly adapt to Italian football and become a key player in their defense for years to come.
